historical notes Art collector who, according to the New York Times, had a collection of modern art, valued at over 2 million and sold it in the 1970's at which point he became a collector of Pre-Columbian art. He had homes in New York, London and Barbados. Maremont's modern art collection included work by Dubbufet, Braque, Gris, Pollock and Kline.

The Pre-Columbian collection was given to the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, by the Kate Maremont Foundation.
