Russell, 1846-1920, the thirty-third governor of Massachusetts consist of twenty-four archival boxes of loose manuscripts and 31 bound volumes of letterbooks and scrapbooks. The collection covers Russell’s career as mayor of Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1885-1889, and governor, 1891-1894, his campaign for reduction of the tariff on raw materials and his unsuccessful bid for the Democratic Presidential nomination in 1896.
