descriptionThe volume features over 300 photographs of American decorative arts objects, presumably bought and sold by Knodle. Some are pasted over entries recording sales of Knodle's Antique Store. Such items as revolvers, china, tables, chairs, rifles, lowboys, washstands, desks, blown glass, lamps, grandfather's clocks, and metal-ware are represented in illustrations and sales records. Many of the photographs have manuscript notations.

Biography or history
Knodle's Antique Store was located in Hagerstown, Md. and operated by Edward Knodle. Knodle was a collector and dealer of early American antiques from approximately 1910 to 1950, when the shop closed due to his illness. He died in 1953. Knodle was considered an authority on early Chippendale, Hepplewhite, Sheraton, Duncan Phyfe, and Pennslyvania German furniture.
