REEL 1788: Correspondence between Ernest Lawson, family members, and others (1939-1956) and a scrapbook maintained by Lawson (with a few additions after his death) containing clippings and exhibition catalogues (1907-1967) relating to Lawson and Theodore Robinson. Among the correspondents are Lawson's daughter, Margaret Lawson Bensco.

UNMICROFILMED: A black-and-white group photograph of 49 artists and members of the Salmagundi Club, entitled "Dinner Tendered to Ernest Lawson by Samuel T. Shaw, Salmagundi Club, March 10th, 1937" and autographed to Lawson by Shaw accompanied by a mounted color poster of a painting by Lawson and autographed by each of the artists, including Victor C. Anderson, George Elmer Browne, Gordon Grant, Eugene Higgens, Ivan G. Olinsky, Eugene Speicher, Guy Wiggens, and Keith Shaw Williams.

Also miscellaneous financial and business records, 1938-1940 and undated, including shipping forms, price lists for works of art, vouchers, bills of lading, and letters concerning Lawson's mural for the Short Hills, New Jersey Post Office; and exhibition catalogs and checklists, 1919-1962.

Granville Smith (1914), Daniel Garber (1917), and Ivan Olinksy (1920), each hosted by Samuel T. Shaw and inscribed to Charles C. Curran from Shaw; of the 1924 annual exhibition jury (?), including Curran, Henry Watrous, Emil Carlsen, Robert Aitken, Edwin Blashfield, and William S. Robinson.

REELS 798-799: Handwritten transcriptions of minute books of treasurers' reports, meetings of members and committees of the Academy and other institutions, associations and societies. The transcribing, done by Academician George W. Maynard, omits portions of the original minutes.

REEL 3161: Ledger of the accounts of the Trustees of the National Academy of Design, "Trust No. 2," 1854-1860. The trustees were Jonathon Sturgis, Charles M. Leupp, Francis W. Edmonds, Asher B. Durand, and Thomas S. Cummings.

REEL 5051: Student Register of the Antique School, 1826-1892, and the Life School, 1835-1897

descriptionAddress book, ca. 1913, journal, 1905-1913, and letterbook, 1919-1943, kept by art patron and hotel proprietor Samuel T. Shaw of New York City. Letterbook contains letters sent and received by Shaw in his capacity as treasurer of the Salmagundi Club's Artists Fund and primarily includes correspondence acknowledging receipt of contributions from fund supporters, interest payments from fund assets, cover letters accompanying checks and contributions, and letters from artists acknowledging receipt of fund money. Included are several letters to and from Salmagundi Club treasurer Ringland F. Kilpatrick. Journal and date book, 1905-1913, contains brief notes and memorandums concerning household and gardening chores, financial business. Volume also includes several loose inserted receipts, clipped advertisements, business letters, and humorous poems and verses. Address book, ca. 1913, includes names and addresses of various firms, agents, and retailers offering a wide range of goods and services, along with occasional accompanying remarks by Shaw.
