Flint, Oliver de Ressequier, Simon G. Sina, and others. Also included are news clippings pertaining to Mexico, 1863-1867, and ca. 150 accounts and receipts of the Mexican Consulate of New York. Much of the correspondence pertains to routine consular affairs, activities of Benito Juarez and his agents, attitude in the United States toward the monarchy, activities of Emperor Maximilian and his government, filibusters, activities of General Santa Anna, the Santanista Party, a plot against Maximilian's life, United States internal affairs, and other Mexican political and military affairs. The remainder of the collection principally consists of private correspondence of the Loosey and Havemeyer families (Loosey's daughter, Emily, married Theodore A. Havemeyer), including many letters between Loosey and his wife, Ida, and correspondence of Theodore A., Henry O., Blanche, and other members of the Havemeyer family.
