descriptionChristian H. Wolff (1815–1887) was a Pittsburgh collector of art and books who lived in Philadelphia for a time in the 1860s. His family owned a large hardware business in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

The collection consists of 319 items bound in eighteen volumes. Volumes 1–5 include essays, printed descriptions of private art collections in Philadelphia, and American and European exhibition catalogues. Volumes 6–18 contain American auction catalogues.

Many of the sales catalogues contain marginal notes about buyers and prices as well as clippings about the sales.

This collection was not filmed by the Archives of American Art, but a title list appears in the 1990 AAA guide.
