descriptionContains purchase records for Whittier's collections of books and antiques.

Vol. 1 contains bills and receipts from used book dealers (particularly Goodspeed's Book Shop, Charles E. Lauriat Co., N.J. Bartlett & Co., and Maggs Bros.) and antique furniture dealers (particularly Israel Sack, Inc.).

Vol. 2 consists of mounted photographs--many of which have identifications typed on cards and stapled above--of some of the furniture recorded in vol. 1. Penciled numbers key most of the photographs back to the invoices. The book purchases show a strong collecting interest in Rudyard Kipling.
