Biographical Note:
Lanfear Barbey Norrie, a mining engineer, graduated from Harvard in 1923. He prospected for minerals and owned mining properties chiefly in Canada. Norrie was a partner of Joseph T. Tower from the 1920s until Tower's death in 1931. Norrie's father, Ambrose Lanfear Norrie, developed iron mines in Michigan and was important in the founding of the town of Ironwood, Michigan.
