description	Collection contains photocopies of inventory cards from Julius Böhler Munich, dated 1904-1940, in 6 boxes. One notebook holds a handwritten index arranged by artist name, with titles of art works and references to the stock cards. The index was made by the Getty Provenance Index staff. Notes: Records of the Böhler and Steinmeyer New York office are not known to have survived. Historical Notes: Julius Böhler (Munich was founded ca. 1880. Kunsthandel AG, Böhler and Steinmeyer Lucerne was founded in ca. 1920 and ended with the death of Julius Wilhelm Böhler in 1966. Böhler and Steinmeyer, Inc. New York was probably founded just after 1920. The firm continues under the name of Julius Böhler Kunsthandel AG.
