description29 letters, 10 shipping bills and 3 price lists.

17 letters are from Jasper F. Cropsey to Kitchell and M. Alfred Newhouse. They relate details in regard to the pedigree, history and inspiration for his paintings, many of which are owned by Kitchell. He strongly maintains that his health and advancing age do not limit his ability to paint. In one letter, Mrs. Cropsey, writing for her husband who is ill, tells Newhouse that she is shipping the paintings and asks him to do "the best you can, you know how badly we need the money."

Other letters from Bert Phillips, Stephen Bowers, and Albert Bowers contain similar material regarding their life and works.
