Art and rare book collector, businessman, chairman of Diebold Inc. - specialized in the collecting of French Impressionist works.
Maggin was both chairman of the board of trustees of Cooper Union from 1967 to 1970, and a benefactor of both Princeton and Cooper Union Library's.
He was married to and had a son, Donald, with Estelle Maggin.
