George H Earle, Jr. (1860-1929) was a collector and railroad man. Earle purchased the Choctaw Coal and Railway Company with several businessman including Sydney F Tyler and was a member of the Philadelphia Art club and Director of The Real Estate Trust Company of Philadelphia, 1916-1917.
His collection included Greek coins among paintings and other art objects including work by Sir Godfrey Kneller and Wm. M. Chase in 1907
Earle’s collection of ancient and modern coins sold at public auction, 1912 by Messrs. Davis & Harvey.
