historical notes Schenck's Art Gallery, also known as the Schenck Gallery or Mr. Edward Schenck's Gallery, was a New York City Auction house owned by Edward Schenck (1820-1895). Edward’s son, Frank H. Schenck (ca. 1858-1900), worked for his father and continued the business until his death in 1901.

Schenck's had the following locations: 10 Wall Street (1851);18 Wall Street (1855-56); 33 Nassau (1857-60); 133 Broadway (1861-62); 158 Broadway (1862-63); 60 Liberty Street (1864-77); 19 Union-square (1877); 96 Liberty Street (1877-78); 96 Liberty Street (1878); 10 Maiden Lane (1879); 37 Nassau (1879-83); 77 Cedar (1886-89); 85 Liberty Street (1891-1898); 55 Cedar (1899-1900).
